Cajun Sweet Potato Soup

Sweet potato blends down to a luscious bisque in this comforting soup.  Citrus and spicy notes from the Club House Cajun Signature Blend and lime bring an unexpected flair.

All You Need

  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) butter or margarine
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 lbs (1 kg) sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 tbsp (45 mL) Club House Cajun Signature Blend
  • 4 cups (1 L) chicken broth, reduced sodium
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) lime juice


  1. Heat butter in large saucepan. Add onions. Cook over medium heat, stirring until softened. Add sweet potatoes, Club House Cajun Signature Blend and 4 cups (1L) broth.

  2. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Purée the mixture with a hand blender or food processor.

  3. To serve, reheat mixture. Add lime juice and additional broth if desired.

  5. · Serve with a swirl of sour cream or yogurt in each bowl.

  6. · The flavour improves with standing so it’s ideal to prepare one or two days ahead.
