Puttanesca Tomato Sauce

All You Need

  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil
  • 1 cup (250 mL) chopped Spanish onion
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) tomato paste
  • 1 container (110 g) Club House Regular Seasoning for Spaghetti Sauce
  • 6 cups (1 1/2 L) fresh diced Roma tomatoes, seeds removed
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) capers
  • 1 cup (250 mL) pitted black olives

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onion for 2 minutes.

  2. Add tomato paste and seasoning; sauté for 1 minute.

  3. Add diced tomatoes; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

  4. Add capers and black olives; simmer for another 5 minutes before serving over your favourite pasta.
