Apple Streusel Pie

The spicy-sweet tastes of cinnamon and nutmeg turn ordinary apple streusel into a holiday favourite.

All You Need

  • prepared pie shell (see Rice Flour Pastry recipe)
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) raisins
  • 1/3 cup (75 mL) granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Club House Minute Tapioca
  • 1/2 tsp (2 1/2 mL) Club House Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp (2 1/2 mL) Club House Ground Nutmeg
  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Club House Rice Flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup (62 1/2 mL) sugar
  • 1/2 tsp (2 1/2 mL) Club House Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (62 1/2 mL) butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. Combine raisins, granulated sugar, Club House Minute Tapioca, Club House Ground Cinnamon and Club House Ground Nutmeg.

  2. Stir in apples and lemon juice.

  3. Place into prepared pie shell.

  4. For streusel, combine Club House Rice Flour, salt, sugar and Club House Ground Cinnamon.

  5. Add melted butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples

  6. Bake at 375ºF (190ºC) for 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or cooled.
