All You Need

  • 2 1/4 cups (532 mL) all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (236 1/2 mL) icing sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Club House Almond Extract
  • 1 cup (236 1/2 mL) melted butter
  • Cake Mate Scribblers

  1. Combine flour and icing sugar in a medium bowl.

  2. Stir in melted butter, egg, and almond extract until well blended. Shape into a ball in the bowl, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your dough to a thickness of about ¼ inch. Cut into rectangles using a knife or a cookie cutter.

  5. Bake 8-10 minutes, and then allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finishing cooling completely.

  6. Using Cake Mate Scribblers, draw lines to create the look of envelope seams, adding a heart shape to serve as your envelope’s “seal.”
