All You Need

  • 2/3 cup (150 mL) ketchup
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) each: light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) Billy Bee Honey
  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) Club House La Grille Asian Inspired BBQ Seasoning
  • 4 lb (2 kg) pork back ribs (2 racks)

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ketchup, light soy sauce, hoisin and rice vinegar. Add honey and seasoning; whisk marinade until well blended.

  2. Baste pork back ribs with half of the BBQ sauce (2/3 cup/150 mL). (Be sure not to put any utensils used on the raw meat into the sauce.) Cover and place in refrigerator for 2 hours.

  3. Remove from refrigerator and place ribs in a deep pan standing up, large bones down. Add 1-in (2.5 cm) water in the bottom of the pan.

  4. Double wrap the pan with aluminum foil and place in pre-heated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 1 ½ hours.

  5. Once cooked, remove ribs from the pan and place on the grill. Apply the remaining BBQ sauce on both sides.
