Traditional Turkey Stuffing

All You Need

  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 2 medium onions
  • 6 stalks celery
  • 1 loaf of cubed stale bread of your choice
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Celery Salt
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Sage Leaves
  • 1 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Rosemary Leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon McCormick Gourmet Thyme Leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups turkey stock, plus 1/2 cup more if baking all of stuffing outside of turkey


  1. Use a skillet and bring to medium heat and heat your butter.
  2. Stir in onion and celery and cover, stirring occasionally, until soft, (approximately 15 to 20 minutes).
  3. Transfer cooked vegetables into a large bowl and add bread cubes, parsley, celery salt, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir in 1 1/4 cups hot stock.

If using to stuff turkey:
Use immediately to fill cavities and spread remainder in baking dish.

If baking entire recipe as side dish:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter 3-quart casserole or 9- by 13-inch baking dish.
  2. Transfer stuffing to dish and drizzle with 1/2 cup hot stock.
  3. Cover with aluminum foil and bake until heated through, about 30 minutes.
  4. Uncover and bake until top is slightly crisp and golden, about 10 minutes longer. Serve immediately.
