Host a Mother's Day Brunch Mom Will Love

Read on for our suggestions on being a great host this Mother’s Day.

As one of our favourite meals, a special brunch to honour moms everywhere is a great way to show the women in our lives how much we value them. Start the day with these fun, simple ideas to make brunch a memorable and special event for mom this Mother’s Day.

Make it your own

Add a personal touch to your brunch through DIY décor. Personalized name cards for guests are a great way to do this. You can go the extra mile by writing a thoughtful note about each guest under their name – especially for mom! Practice your calligraphy or get creative on the computer for different looks.

Personalize the bar

Creating a beverage station like a mimosa bar is another easy way to engage your guests and have some fun. Lay out garnishing fruit and a variety of juices (fresh squeezed orange, grapefruit, pomegranate and kiwi – yum!) and let your guests have fun customizing their drinks.

Make your guest of honour feel extra special

Let’s not forget who we’re celebrating! Make the moms at the brunch feel special by incorporating some of their favourite things. Use their favourite colours in table settings, preparing some of their favourite dishes or create a playlist inspired by them to set the mood. We love gifting baked goods and Mother’s Day is the perfect occasion. Check out our favourite baked gifts here.

Wow them with your meal

Serve your guests a dish they won’t easily forget—remember, moms are a tough crowd to impress but it’s likely they’ll still love a meal made with love. Forego the traditional eggs and bacon with our Applewood bacon & eggs breakfast flatbread. Be mindful of dietary restrictions and make sure there are plenty of options! This glazed honey pear salad is a delicious side and fresh and flavourful for spring. Finish off with a sweet treat for a well-rounded brunch experience.

Send them away with a reminder

Sending guests home with a party favour leaves a lasting impression and puts you in the running for best host! Potted plants are great and easily customizable for mom’s favourite flowers. As an alternative to flowers, succulents are also small and easy to care for.

Keep these suggestions in mind when planning your Mother’s Day brunch – you’ll be sure to wow your guests! But be careful, you might just be chosen to host all of the annual brunches!
